Don's Bio

Don grew up mainly in Fort Worth and lives in Burleson, Texas. He played Texas honky tonks with his band The Cowtown Posse, several years ago.

After taking time off to get married and raise a family, he was recently inspired to start writing songs again, after the tragedies of September 11, 2001. The tribute song, "Fallen From The Trees" is all about the New York World Trade Center Flights, It was written by Don just four days after 9/11 and recorded within a week of the tragedies. Don has played the song many times in public as well as for a group of local Nashville songwriters and the response has been quite positive.

After a lot of encouragement from his family and friends, Don has since joined several songwriters associations. He has also recorded several other songs that he's written since "Fallen From The Trees".

Don also has a new song he's written about Flight 93 that went down near Pittsburgh. He wrote it on 3-11-02, which was the six month anniversary of 9-11. The song is a patriotic anthem titled "Let's Roll" and is about the events that took place on the plane that day. You may have heard about Todd Beamer, who was a passenger on United Air Lines Flight 93. He had courageously planned to band together with some other passengers, in hopes of stopping the terrorists. Todd said the words, "let's roll" over a telephone in the plane, just before it went down. Those were the last words heard on the phone that day. Please take a moment to view the Todd M. Beamer Foundation website. You can read more about the story at Todd Beamer: Let's Roll. The charity set up on Todd's behalf will benefit the children who lost parents on Flight 93. There are also many other web pages on the Internet devoted to the "Let's Roll" story.
